When the tracklist was revealed for Tyga's upcoming album Hotel California one of the first songs to catch people's eye was "Hit 'Em Up" featuring Jadakiss and the late, greatTupac Shakur.
The original version of "Hit 'Em Up" realeased by 'Pac in 1996, was one of the most hard hitting diss tracks of all time. Tyga recently sat down with MTV to make it clear his new song isn't a remake, but it will definitely grab people's attention.
"When you're talking about 'Hit 'Em Up' you ain't really dissing nobody, but you lettin' it be known that you don't rock with certain people," he explained.
The song was originally supposed to also feature Nicki Minaj. That plan didn't materialize so T-Raw thought The Lox veteran emcee, Jadakiss, would fit perfectly.
"I wanted Nicki to be on the song at first and then we never did it, so then I went back to the song later.I sent it to Jadakiss and after that I was done with the song and then I had came across some 'Pac vocals from a friend," Tyga said. "I was like, 'Man this would be dope,' but I didn't really know how to use it properly."
Tyga said once he figured out how to properly use Tupac's vocals the song came together nicely.
"When people hear it they're gonna think it's real clever and they're gonna really respect it."
What do you think of putting Tupac with Tyga and Jadakiss on a record?
